Source: Malhotra 2020.ĥG NR HARQ is asynchronous. What are some technical details of 5G NR HARQ?ĥG NR uses multiple stop-and-wait HARQ processes.HARQ retransmissions won't work since HARQ buffers are flushed during handover. RLC retransmissions won't work since new RLC entities are established in the new gNB. Undelivered packets are forwarded at the PDCP layer from old to new gNB. PDCP retransmissions are useful during inter- gNB handovers. Moreover, RLC transmissions can potentially happen on a different component carrier or cell but HARQ retransmissions happen on the same cell as the original transmission. HARQ offers retransmission capability for RLC UM and TM. RLC retransmissions are limited to logical channels in Acknowledged Mode ( AM). A combination of HARQ's fast retransmissions and RLC's reliable packet delivery achieves this. Applications requiring 100Mbps may need highly reliable connections to avoid triggering TCP congestion-avoidance mechanism. HARQ retransmissions at MAC react faster to channel conditions and improve performance for delay-sensitive applications. RLC and PDCP being higher layers, the feedback signalling is slower. Retransmissions in 5G NR are possible at three layers: MAC, RLC and PDCP. Why do we need HARQ in 5G when RLC and PDCP do retransmissions?.Better performance can be achieved but at the cost of increased feedback signalling, higher power or lower spectral efficiency. ![]() HARQ typically achieves a residual error rate of 0.1-1%. The use of HARQ in 5G NR benefits URLLC and eMBB use cases. PHY layer at the receiver combines one or more transmissions to increase the chances of correct decoding. The upper pair was kept at the right distance from the lower pair by means of iron braces, one of which was used to fasten each pile to the end of the beam. The two pairs were then joined by a beam two feet wide, whose ends fitted exactly into the spaces between the two piles forming each pair. Opposite these, forty feet lower down the river, another pair of piles was planted, similarly fixed together, and inclined in the opposite direction to the current. These he lowered into the river with appropriate tackle, placed them in position at right angles to the bank, and drove them home with pile-drivers, not vertically, as piles are generally fixed, but obliquely, inclined in the direction of the current. He took a pair of piles a foot and a half thick, slightly pointed at the lower ends and of a length adapted to the varying depth of the river, and fastened them together two feet apart. “The method he adopted in building the bridge was as follows. Moreover, when it began to blow hard and they were running before the wind, they weathered the storm more easily they could bring in to shallow water with greater safety, and when left aground by the tide had nothing to fear from reefs or pointed rocks – whereas to our ships all these risks were formidable.” We could not injure them by ramming because they were so solidly built, and their height made it difficult to reach them with missiles or board them with grappling-irons. ![]() In meeting them the only advantage our ships possessed was that they were faster and could be propelled by oars in other respects the enemy’s were much better adapted for sailing such treacherous and stormy waters. They used sails made of raw hides or thin leather, either because they had no flax and were ignorant of its use, or more probably because they thought that ordinary sails would not stand the violent storms and squalls of the Atlantic and were not suitable for such heavy vessels. The anchors were secured with iron chains instead of ropes. The cross-timbers, which consisted of beams a foot wide, were fastened with iron bolts as thick as a man’s thumb. Exceptionally high bows and sterns fitted them for use in heavy seas and violent gales, and the hulls were made entirely of oak, to enable them to stand any amount of shocks and rough usage. They were made with much flatter bottoms, to help them to ride shallow water caused by shoals or ebb-tides. ![]() “The Gauls’ own ships were built and rigged in a different manner from ours. ![]() It can additionally be purchased as a kit for retrofitting existing bikes, which is priced at US$49.95. ![]() It will also be featured on soon-to-be-released models from Sun and Torker. Slidepad was developed primarily for bicycle manufacturers to build into their new models, and is already standard equipment on several of Jamis' latest bikes. For example, if the rear wheel begins to lift off the ground as if you grabbed too much front brake, the front brake is instantly released, which will likely prevent an unwanted accident." "Slidepad's breakthrough innovation is that it allows the front brake force to intelligently change based on the riding situation. Why not just use one of those? "Two cables hooked up to one lever means there is always a fixed amount of braking to each front and rear brake, it doesn't change if you're on a slippery surface, leaning too far forward, etc." explains company president Brian Riley. Various manufacturers already offer an alternative – single brake levers that can accommodate both front and rear brake cables at the same time. As they fumbled for their slidepads to record the moment, he peeled away and skimmed along the top of one of. The process is illustrated in the video below. alhonga brake system components, hydraulic disc brake, v-brake, caliper brake, brake lever, disc pads, brake pads, slidepad, accessories, mtb, trekking, city, kids. As the pad moves, it pulls on the cable, thus activating the front brake a split-second after the rear one. As the brake pads engage the forward-turning rim, one of them actually slides forward a bit with it – the brake calipers and the other pad remain in place.Ī second cable, attached to the back of that sliding pad, loops forward and proceeds up to the front brake. The rider squeezes the one and only handlebar-mounted brake lever, which has a traditional-style cable and housing running to the rear brake (Slidepad only works with rim brakes, not discs). It allows both brakes to be applied with the squeeze of a single lever, in such a way that the front brake will never lock up on its own. It was for cyclists such as these that the Slidepad system was created. As a result, to be on the safe side, they often only use the rear brake. Despite the fact that the majority of a bicycle's stopping power comes from the front brake, many novice and casual riders worry that if they apply that brake too hard, they'll go flying over the handlebars. ![]() Prison props are scattered around the area, and there are prisoners in the cells, as well as the Biker Boss (not prison form) with two naked prisoners. Here we sought to test if binocular matching is influenced by contextual effects in V1, using fMRI to measure brain activity while participants viewed perceptually ambiguous "wallpaper" stereograms whose depth was disambiguated by the luminance of the surrounding region. However, for binocular matching, the activity in this area of the visual cortex is thought to represent local processing, suggesting that the influence of global context may occur at later stages of cortical processing. For monocular features, there is evidence that global context can influence neuronal responses as early as V1. It has been demonstrated for binocular matching: the disambiguation of the Wallpaper Illusion via the luminance of the background. ![]() This phenomenon is well-documented for monocular features, e.g., the Kanizsa triangle. However, once the perceived shift in depth occurred, stereoacuity improved fivefold without any change in the physical stimulus. ![]() We also found that stereoacuity for the initial envelope-based match was poor, as might be expected for a target presented far off the fixation plane. Our measurements for a range of spatial frequencies and disparities showed that these shifts to the fixation plane occurred only if the envelope disparity was more than one-half period of the carrier that is, phase disparity >180 degrees. Additional experiments demonstrated that the envelope was adapting, thereby permitting the alternative match. Initially, the shift from the edge plane took 4-6 s, but after many trials, the shift became faster. We asked observers to signal when the segment appeared to move from the edge plane forward to the fixation plane. We measured the timing of this shift for a 6 degrees wide, 3-cpd sinusoidal grating presented in a rectangular envelope the edges (envelope) of the grating were presented at 20 arcmin of disparity (one period) behind the fixation plane. In the wallpaper illusion, a repetitive pattern appears to shift from one depth plane to the plane nearest fixation. ![]() LAT/LON in decimal degrees to two decimals, see SPC FAQ for more info Raw full report in comma-separated values (CSV) format KML files are created with time-enabled placemarks compatible with Google Earth Time Slider. Check an app’s permissions before installing it Here are four ways to change your app permissions on Android. You can also check Android app permissions in the Google Play store before you download an app. You can manage Android app permissions by checking which ones you currently have allowed and modifying them if necessary. Watch out for apps that request access to at least one of these nine permission groups: How to tell if an app permission is dangerousĪndroid classifies permissions as “dangerous” if they might affect your privacy, the functionality of other apps, or your device’s operation. In those cases, check that an app is safe before you install it, and make sure the app comes from a reputable developer. That’s why Android gives you the opportunity to accept or refuse them. These permissions are not inherently dangerous, but have the potential for misuse. These “dangerous” permissions include access to your calling history, private messages, location, camera, microphone, and more. It’s the “dangerous” permissions that Android requires your permission to use. That’s because normal permissions shouldn’t pose a risk to your privacy or your device’s functionality. If the app shouldn’t need access to something - like your camera or location - don’t allow it. You should avoid app permissions that aren’t necessary for an app to work. When you install a new app, the Android permissions controller is what gives you the option to allow or deny permissions for that app. The Android permissions controller is a part of the Android operating system that tells apps what they can and can’t access.
